GOLF RULES GOLF COURSE MAINTENANCE SCHEDULE Welcome to the Galveston Country Club Golf Course. Our scenic
eighteen hole championship course, located near Galveston Bay,
features numerous water holes, over fifty sand bunkers, hundreds of
palms and oleanders, and an abundance of beautiful water fowl. Not
exceptionally long, our course requires precision shot making and
good course management. Compactly arranged, the course is home to
the Rudy T. Golf Classic, National Super Seniors, The Beachcombers
Tournament, Gulf Coast Intercollegiate Tournament, Host of the 1998
Texas Boys Junior Championship, and the 1995 Texas Girls
Junior Championship. Appropriate dress required: Collared shirts and Bermuda length shorts. Lessons are given by PGA golf professionals and are available by appointment.We offer a full service driving range, practice bunker, putting, and chipping facilities. The Galveston Country Club is a member of the USGA, Texas Golf Association, and Southern Golf Association. When traveling, we can assist you with your golf plans and will do our best to help secure Tee times at other golf courses around the country. The Pro shop does handicap service and monitor members play and handicaps, to adhere to USGA guidelines. In the golf shop we do club re-gripping, and have access to re-shafting, refinishing and other club repair. Men's Golf Association We have an active Men's Golf Association, that meets and plays on Saturdays and a Ladies Golf Association that meets and plays on Thursdays and Saturdays. In the summer, we offer a junior clinic on Tuesday,. Wednesday and Thursday, see newsletter for announcement. In addition, throughout the summer on specified Friday mornings, junior clinics and junior play days are scheduled. Rules and etiquette are stressed for our junior players and parental direction and encouragement are welcomed. Juniors are encouraged to play at the Galveston Country Club and are given every opportunity to be a part of the great game of golf. We ask that during peak times it be understood that adult players have preference and junior players must be accompanied by an adult. Junior players must abide by the dress code and are expected to behave like the golfer he or she is.Ladies' Golf Association If you are interested in joining the LGA please contact Sandy Murison @ 737-2180 or Beth Epstein @ 737-5771. Dues are $35.00 for the year which includes membership in our hole-in-one club.
