Member Guest Policy & Procedures


Welcome to Galveston Country Club!
To ensure all members and their guests enjoy a premium experience at Galveston Country Club, the following policy applies to all events and non-member participation, such as Mahjong, Art, Swimming, Yoga, and Raquet Sports.

  1. General Access
    • ​​Member Sponsorship: All guests must always be accompanied by a member in good standing while on Club premises.
    • Conduct: The hosting member is responsible for ensuring their guests adhere to the Club's dress code and the GCC Rules & Policies. 
  2. Guest Fees & Billing
    • ​​Standard Fee: A guest fee of $10.00 per adult (kids not included) applies to all club-organized events, member-organized events, social activities, and facility use.
    • Member Billing: For convenience and security, no cash or credit cards will be accepted from guests at the point of entry for guest fees.
      • All guest fees will be automatically charged to the hosting member's account.
      • By bringing a guest, the member acknowledges and authorizes this charge.
      • Golf fees are identified and available in the Pro Shop.
  3. Member Responsibility 
    • ​​The hosting member is responsible for covering any costs incurred by their guest, including dining, beverages, and damage.
  4. Arrival and Registration
    • ​​Host Stand Check-In: To maintain accurate records and security, all guests must sign in at the Host Stand immediately upon arrival.
    • Member Presence: The sponsoring member must be present at the Host Stand during the sign-in process to confirm the guest's entry and the associated account charge.

Welcome to Galveston Country Club!
To ensure an exceptional experience for all golfers, members, and visitors, the following policies apply to all guests, reciprocal members, and accompanied players using club facilities. 

 

To be eligible for reciprocal privileges at Galveston Country Club, the visiting individual must:
  • Be a current member in good standing at a club with a reciprocal agreement with Galveston Country Club.
  • Provide a letter of introduction from their home club confirming membership status, dues payment, and expected duration of visit. 
  • Abide by all Galveston Country Club rules and policies during their visit (please see Club Amenities and Golf webpage for GCC Policies)
  • All reciprocal members must contact the Member Services Director at least a week before their visit and must check in with the Member Services Director a the Club office upon arrival.
  • A valid ID and letter of introduction are required prior to check-in.
  • Reciprocal Guests will be issued a temporary guest pass valid for the duration of their visit. 
  • Reciprocal guests are subject to applicable usage fees. Charging privileges are not extended to reciprocal guests. Fess for services must be d on the day of service. The Club accepts the following payment methods:
    • Cash
    • Visa, MC, Discover, AMEX
  • Reciprocal access is limited to a maximum of 6 visits per calendar year per individual. 
  • No reciprocal guest may bring guests unless pre-approved by Club Management. 
  • Reciprocal privileges may be suspended or denied due to violations of Club rules or inappropriate conduct. 
  • Extended or frequent visits may be declined to avoid circumvention of membership requirements. 
  • Tee times are required and subject to availability. 
  • Reciprocal members must contact the Head Golf Professional to schedule a tee time and requires at least a 5 days notice
  • The proper dress code and etiquette must be observed at all times. 
  • Reciprocal Guest Green Fees: $150 + $20 Cart Fee
All players must register at the Golf Pro Shop or by calling (409)737-9830. Reciprocal fees must be paid prior to play. 
  • Guests may reserve courts for a maximum of 2 hours per day.
  • Court reservations may be made up to 5 days in advance. 
  • Reservations will be void if players do not check in within 15 minutes of their scheduled time. 
  • Club tournaments take priority over individual reservations. 
  • Proper tennis or pickleball attire is required. 
All reciprocal guest must contact the Member Services Director before accessing the pool facilities.
GCC is a family friendly club, and members and guests are encouraged to wear appropriate and conservative swimwear when using the swimming pool facilities. Please see other swimming pool rules below:
  • Swimmers in bathing suits will remain in close proximity to the swimming pool and are not permitted on the golf course, tennis courts or in the Clubhouse.  
  • There will be no swimming except during the posted pool hours. 
  • No glass is permitted in the pool area. There will be no large or dangerous objects allowed in the pool at any time. 
  • Pets are not allowed in the pool area at any time. 
  • Horseplay or running is not allowed in or out of the pool. 
  • Children twelve (12) years of age and under are not allowed anywhere in the pool area unless accompanied by an adult. The baby pool is restricted to children eight (8) years of age and under. 
  • No diving allowed.
  • Tables and chairs may not be moved from the pool area. Tables are for the benefit of those desiring to eat and may not be reserved by placing personal belongings on them. 
  • Visiting with lifeguards is strictly forbidden. The lifeguard is not permitted to "baby-sit" children. 
  • Lifeguards shall have complete authority to enforce all pool rules with adults as well as children. Anyone failing to comply with pool rules or reasonable request(s) by the lifeguards, pool staff or Clubhouse Manager may have his or her swimming privileges suspended. All suspensions will be rigidly enforced. 
  • Admission to the pool may be refused when in the opinion of staff or lifeguard, a person has any skin or other infectious disease, sore or inflamed eyes, nasal or ear discharge or any communicable disease. Persons with excessive sunburn, open sores, or wearing bandages of any kind will not be admitted. 
  • Carry in food, beverages, and coolers are prohibited.   
To prioritize access for GCC Members during peak times, reciprocal privileges will not be available during designated holiday blackout periods. 
  • Holiday Weeks: Reciprocal usage is not permitted beginning Thursday prior to the holiday weekend through Monday following the holiday. 
  • Monday Holidays: For holidays that fall on a Monday, reciprocal usage is not permitted beginning Thursday prior to the holiday and extending through the Tuesday following the holiday.
  • Examples:
    • Thanksgiving (Thursday Holiday): Blackout will be from Thursday, November 21st - Thursday, November 30th 
    • Labor Day (Monday Holiday): Blackout will be from Thursday, August 28th - Tuesday, September 2nd
GCC is a family friendly club and all attire should be family appropriate. Dress shall be at the option of the reciprocal member/guest except at special functions when dress is designated, and with the following limitations:
  • Swimming attire without a cover up is not permitted in any part of the Clubhouse.
  • Hats may be worn in the bar.
  • The dining rooms have a business casual dress code after 5:00 p.m. Long pants or dress shorts and a collared shirt for men. Dressy casual for women. No flip flops, exercise shorts, tank tops, jean shorts, t-shirts and/or cut off shorts. 
  • The Bar/Lounge are casual and golf attire is permitted. 
  • The Pavillion dress code is casual. Gold attire and appropriate swim attire is permitted.

Golf Attire
  • Men: Collared shirts (tucked unless designed untucked), golf shorts/slacks. No jeans, gym wear, t-shirts, or swimwear. Hats must be worn bill-forward. Shirts that fall below the shorts pockets must be tucked in. 
  • Women (14+): Golf shorts, skorts, slacks. No short shorts, yoga/exercise gear, or revealing tops. Golf or athletic shoes only. 
  • Children (12 & under): Conventional golf attire recommended.
